Description
The Rohde KE-S kiln series consists of nine modes with kiln sizes between 100 and 1000 litres in a classic construction with heating elements mounted on support rods.
5 sided heating provides for an even heat distribution in every range of performance.
This KE-S kiln series has been designed for hard and long lasting application in professional workshops but is also suitable for daily use in schools and home studios. This design combines a maximum of robustness and persistence with a highest possible efficiency. The insulation consists of four layers, using only high quality, reduction resistant firebricks in the firing chamber. For the back insulation, Rohde count on state-of-the-art insulating materials which makes these kilns particularly energy efficient.
Of course Rohde have incorporated the unique features of all their front loading kilns into this series. The entire steel construction, for example, is equipped with an in frame ventilation made from stainless steel sheets. They also apply the Rohde System ceiling construction, tried and tested for more than 15 years.

Careful Sealing Of The Door
The seal between the door and the outer bricks is ensured by a flexible insulating cord. This insulating cord closes the high-quality polished sealing surfaces in the cooler area around the front row of bricks and reduces the escape of thermal energy and radiation.
Precise temperature measurement with the Type S thermocouple
The installed thermocouple (type S) is protected against damage and guarantees exact temperature measurement at all times.

Safety Switch
The safety switch, which is installed on the door of the furnace, interrupts the circuit to the heating elements when the door is opened and thus prevents live components from being touched.

These kilns are available as single phase or 3-phase. In the UK the majority of homes have a single phase supply (the standard three wires: live, neutral and earth). 3-phase supplies (five wires) are usually only found in industrial or commercial settings, so please check which connection type you require before ordering. In either case this kiln will need to be connected by a qualified electrician.
CEE Plug & Cable Supply
The KE-S series kilns are available either as a single or three phase kiln. A qualified electrian is required to wire it in. to Please check your supply before purchasing.

Controllers & App
The new European ST 310 Stafford controller uses its simple firing graph to easily see what stage your firing is in. The ST 310 is a standard issue with a Rohde kiln but you can upgrade to the ST 411 for more program spaces and segments.
