Ember LoStone
Description
LoStone Ember is a warm, burnt red stoneware clay enriched with subtle salmon undertones at lower firing temperatures. Its rich, earthy surface makes it perfect for expressive ceramic forms, offering depth and character that evolves beautifully through the firing range.
As part of our pioneering LoStone range, Ember is the UK’s first low-fire red stoneware, vitrifying at 1160°C. Traditionally, red stoneware has required higher firing temperatures, but LoStone Ember challenges convention, delivering the strength, warmth, and surface quality of high-fire clays while firing at significantly lower temperatures.
LoStone Ember is ideal for throwing, modelling, and casting with a smooth yet tactile texture that responds well to both traditional and contemporary techniques. It's distinctive warm tone provides an excellent base for slips, oxides, and glazes, while its lower firing range makes it an exceptional choice for potters and educators seeking a sustainable, cost-effective stoneware with unmistakable character.
