Rectangular Kiln Shelves - Silicon Carbide
Description
Nitride Silicon bonded SiC Shelves
25.5cm x 35.5cm x 0.7cm
1.Thickness 7mm, lighter, easy to handle and lift in and out of the kiln with less stress to your hands and back.
2.Thin thickness but higher strength, allow for significantly more stacking space when compared to conventional 1.6cm and 2.5cm thick cordierite kiln shelves.
3.Quicker heating up,save energy by 30%, reduce the production cost
4.Longer working time, can use 1000 firing cycles (8hours per firing cycle), extend lifespan by 40%,
5.Made flat to stay flat so there’s no warping even after many firings under heavy loads.
6. Working Max Temp 1550degC
Safety Precautions
- Risk of steam explosion: If exposed to prolonged moisture, they must be thoroughly dried before use, as rapid heating can cause catastrophic failure.
- Moisture: Store them in a dry, enclosed area. If they become wet, they must be dried completely before firing.
- Electrical Conductivity: Silicon carbide is an electrical conductor, so extra caution is necessary in electric kilns. Ensure the power is off before reaching into the kiln, and do not use the shelves in kilns with unpinned elements that protrude from their grooves to eliminate potential shock hazards.
- Drying: If a shelf has been exposed to moisture, it must be completely dried before use.
- A suggested drying cycle is to hold the shelf at a temperature slightly above the boiling point of water for a sufficient amount of time to expel as much steam as possible.
