Carborundum Abrasive Stick White

White aluminium oxide Alundum Stones are used as an abrasive for 'stoning back' fired enamel surfaces. This 220 grit Alundum Stone will stone back enamel to a fine finish, leaving a smooth, matte surface. Once this process is complete and a matte finish is achieved, the enamel can also be re-fired if desired to produce a very smooth, glossy finish. Alundum stones typically leave no residue on the enamel, avoiding contaminants being re-fired into the enamel and becoming visible. However, to ensure best results, they should be used under running water. This fine grit alundum stone for enamelling has a square section profile.
