Blueberry Ash Spectrum Glaze
Description
Spectrum's Ash Glazes Cone 4/6 (1180°C-1240°C) Ash Glaze colors are translucent, and are designed to “gather and run” much like traditional ash glazes. The variety of colors is inspired by the different effects that come from using various fruit trees as a source of ash in reduction.
Ash Glazes are all oxide based and therefore will create fascinating new colors when overlapped with other glazes. We find that they work exceptionally well overlapped with our 1100 series texture glazes as well as our 1500 series Nova Stoneware glazes. These glazes will mature at cone 4-6.

Working Notes
Apply 3 coats to low fired bisque or one coat over another glaze.
Will run on vertical surface so make sure to have a sacrifice tray or apply on the top half of your pot.
These glazes will run slightly, gathering oxides from the underlying glaze and re-distributing them across the curves of your pot. The combination will add the feeling of motion and texture and reveal interesting colours and effects.
Health & Safety
Manufacturers Recommendations: Dinnerware Safe indicates the fired glaze surface meets the FDA standards for food safe, the fired surface is free of surface texture that could potentially trap bacterial, and the fired surface is chemically durable. Please note, dinnerware safety is not defined by cutlery scratches. Finished ware producers bear responsibility for dinnerware safe testing their ware being sold into commerce.
We at Bath Potters will quote the manufacturers recommendations, but if you intend to make ceramic dinnerware with selling in mind, then you would be best advised to get your wares tested.
