Description
Sodium Silicate, also known as Water Glass is a deflocculant used in the preparation of Casting Slips. It helps to increase fluidity of casting slips.
The number denotes the concentration of ratio of chemical to water. The higher the number, the more concentrated the product. For example 75s is around half the concentration of 140s.
Working Notes
Brushing the surface of a thrown pot with sodium silicate, quick-drying the surface with a heat gun or blowtorch until the surface no longer is tacky, then expanding the form from inside can give a piece of pottery an aura of instant antiquity.
Customer Reviews

"Many companies these days take forever to answer the phone, and are far from helpful and efficient. Bath Potters, in contrast, are always incredibly customer-focused and efficient and orders always arrive the next day. Brilliant!"
