Scarva Earthstone Handbuilding Clay E/S40
A white stoneware/raku with exceptional handling properties.
The addition of coarse molochite makes earthstone hand building incredibly strong clay. Molochite's rough and uneven surface gives the clay excellent keying properties.
† It is heavily grogged enough to make the most extreme sculptural forms and is highly resistant to thermal shock and warping. This makes it suitable for hand made tiles and ceramic murals.
Its white finish means it gives excellent results with colour, and because its shrinkage rate is low it can be high biscuited and decorated with bright mid-temperature colours.
It also responds very well to stoneware, raku and reduction firing.
E/S40 will† be of interest to anyone who appreciates quality at a reasonable price.
