Description
Our glaze and body stains are made of a combination of oxides and frits that create beautiful uniform rich colors. You can add stains to glaze recipes to produce color in an opaque or transparent base glaze, (5-8% addition). They can also be added to decorating slip (10-18% addition), engobes, and even clay to make coloured clay bodies. Stains can also be mixed with water to create washes that add a splash of color.
Our stains can appear lighter or darker than the image depending on the percentage of stain added, firing temperature, and also what type of clay body applied on.
Suitable for use to 1300°C

"Do not confuse this stain with the high fire inclusion yellow ZL-258. The photo for this product is very misleading as this stain produces a much paler yellow than the intense ZL-258. I'm pleased to see that it has been renamed as lemon yellow since I mistakenly bought it earlier this year instead of the ZL-258, but the image really should be changed to reflect the true colour - even with 10% in glaze, the ZL-500B is about the colour of primroses - nice if that is what you are looking for."
