Place over forefinger and thumb when dipping ware to leave a fingermark-free glazed surface. Surface tension holds a small amount of glaze in each cell so that when the ware is released whilst the glaze is still wet after dipping, the marks heal over instantly. They also provide 'grip' and act as a barrier to prevent the skin's oils from affecting glaze adhesion
