Liquid Brush Wax Emulsion Resist
Wax Resist (AKA Wax Emulsion) acts to repels glaze from the surface to which it is applied. As the kiln is fired the wax dissipates, leaving the surface beneath as it was prior to firing. It can be applied to unglazed greenware or bisque or it can be applied over previously applied, unfired color. It can be applied with a brush, sponge or spattered. Each method allows the artist to expand the options...

Orton Standard Pyrometric Cones
Pyrometric cones are slender pyramids made from about 100 carefully controlled compositions. Each cone number is unique in measuring temperature within a small temperature range (less than 30°C). Cones measure the amount of heat absorbed. As the cone nears its maturing range, it softens and the tip begins to bend, drawn down by the influence of gravity.
Standard cone heating rate °C per...

Scarva Earthstone Flecked Stoneware Clay E-S90
Firing Range: 1120°C-1280°C
Many potters want to achieve the attractive, speckled effect that reduction firings give to clay, but this is not usually possible in an electric kiln. Some flecked clays have been introduced in the past, however, we believe this is the most successful one yet. ES90 Flecked Stoneware, when fired in an electric kiln, gives the attractive, speckled effect of a reduction...
Ceramic Stilts
Moulded stilts are a popular method of supporting glaze ceramic ware clear of the kiln shelf. Each stilt has three arms, each terminating in an upward and downward point, thus providing minimum contact area.
These Double Pointed stilts are ideal for increasing air flow during your firings, to ensure that all parts of your pot are evenly heated.
Orton Mini Pyrometric Cones
Small Cones are commonly used in the Kiln-Sitter®. The tapered shape allows some flexibility to adjust shut-off by placing the thinner or thicker portion of the cone under the sensing rod.
Small Cones can also be used on the kiln shelf as miniature witness cones when space is limited.

Batt Wash
This product will prevent drops of glaze from sticking to the bottom of the kiln or the kiln shelves. The wash binds with the glaze to make a brittle material that can easily be scraped off. It is recommended that the shelves be coated with a new coat of wash before each firing.
Kiln shelves are quite expensive, so anything you can do to save them is well worth it!
