Ray Finch Craftsman Potter Of The Modern Age

Ray Finch Craftsman Potter Of The Modern Age
£15.00

Information

It is profusely illustrated throughout with previously unpublished archive material from the Finch family album and newly commissioned studio quality photographs of pieces made by him throughout his time at Winchcombe Pottery. Ray Finch was taught primarily by Michael Cardew, who trained with Bernard Leach, the best known English Studio Potter of the 20th Century. His Pottery at Winchcombe has a worldwide reputation along side St. Ives in Cornwall as a training institution for young potters. Unlike Leach or Cardew, Finch has virtually no published writings to his name, so the interviews with him contained in this new title give a unique insight on a great potter. This book will appeal equally to practising potters, collectors, dealers and lovers of hand craftsmanship.
